Imagine a liquid epoxy that is clear – A liquid epoxy with strength rivaling that of heavy duty paste epoxies – A liquid epoxy that has flexibility and is shatter resistant – A work time of 4 minutes and 1 hour cure time. Imagine no longer!

PC-Clear™ Epoxy is a medium viscosity liquid epoxy system with greater clarity than other epoxies. This product is excellent for repairs and projects that must be less visible such as art objects or collectables. PC-Clear™ epoxy is fast curing but allows ample time to apply and position the repair. After curing the epoxy does not become brittle, instead cured PC-Clear™ forms a tough resilient bond. PC-Clear™ can be used on more than just cosmetically critical repairs and in addition it can be used for automotive, construction and facility repairs.

WORKING TIME: approx. 4 MINUTES
CURE TIME: 1 HOUR (24 HOURS FOR FULL CURE)

Use PC-Clear™ when you are concerned about appearance of your repair and a liquid epoxy is what you are looking for.

How to use PC-Clear™

Prep

Prepare your surface as best you can to ensure the best possible bond with PC-Clear™. Remove contaminants such as dust, dirt, oil and grime
with a solvent such as methylated spirit, acetone, rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol) or lacquer thinner. Mild detergent solution in water is also good for removing contaminants. Use a clean paper towel or rag for wiping. Do not use white spirit or paint thinner for removing contaminants.

Remove rust and loose paint with sandpaper or wire brush. Epoxy typically sticks to most paints. If there’s a concern of the paint’s adhesion then remove it with sandpaper or wire brush.

Smooth, glossy and shiny surfaces should be roughened using sandpaper to increase adhesion.

Mixing

PC-Clear™ has a work time of 4 minutes so only mix as much product as you think you can apply in this time. You will be able to apply more to continue filling across an area, PC-Clear™ sticks to PC-Clear™.

PC-Clear™ is a medium viscosity liquid epoxy.

To mix PC-Clear™ you’ll need a spatula, putty knife or lolly stick and probably a piece of scrap wood, cardboard or similar to mix on. Mixing on a flat surface minimises the exotherm’s effect on the curing reaction, maximising the work time. Mixing in a container will cause an increased rate of reaction and decrease work time.

With the 1oz syringe equal amounts will be dispensed from the nozzle and you simply need to mix them together. As the two parts are mixed together they will become semi-opaque to help you see when both parts have been mixed. The epoxy will become clear as it cures.

Please be advised that PC-Clear will become warm during the curing process.

The syringe lid can be replaced after use to save the remainder for future repairs. Store in a cool location.

Tinting

Underwater & Wet Use

Clean Up

After using PC-Clear™ clean up using methylated spirit, acetone, rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol) or lacquer thinner to clean tools and mixing surfaces before PC-Clear™ cures.

Clean hands and skin with soap and water.

Cured epoxy can be removed by applying paint remover or paint stripper to soften the epoxy surface. Scratch off the softened epoxy. Repeat as needed.

Finishing

After PC-Clear™ has cured it can be sanded and painted. We recommend allowing 1 hour to cure at 20°c (longer at cooler temperatures).

We recommend applying a stain-sealing primer/sealer to the repair before painting.
